At Eyes Focused on you, our primary goal is to provide our patients with the information and assistance they need to take charge of their health and the health of their families.  When you take a holistic approach to health, you understand that food fuels our entire body.

Registered Dietician, Aimee Hayes, explains what foods are good for your eye health.

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a leading cause of vision loss in the developed world. While there are some treatments, there is not currently a cure. There are, however, steps you can take to reduce the risk of developing AMD.

We need to fuel our body with appropriate nutrients to maintain good eye health. We now understand that the status of microbial flora in the gut can be directly related to the risk of eye disease.

Conditions like joint pain, arthritis or inflammation don’t necessarily start out where you might think. Research has found that the pain and inflammation may actually originate in the gut. It is believed that the bacteria found in the gut helps to ensure a barrier is kept between what we put in there, like food and drink, and prevent it from leaking into the blood stream.

Registered Dietician, Aimee Hayes, shows you how to make a simple, healthy salad that is good for your eye health.
