Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that cause progressive damage of the optic nerve. If left untreated, most types of glaucoma gradually worsen visual damage and lead to blindness. Once incurred, visual damage is irreversible. Glaucoma is the second most common cause of blindness worldwide and it is on the rise. Unfortunately, the disease progresses slowly and is often undetected until the damage is done.

The use of Smartphones, in particular, is on the rise and it's predicted that by 2020, 3 billion people across the globe will own one! Given that the average person spends about three hours a day on their Smartphone, it's reasonable to wonder what staring at a small, bright screen for so long and so often is doing to our eyes.
